HOUSTON - A Goose Creek ISD bus driver is in trouble after they forgot to check all the seats and unknowingly, left a 4-year-old boy sleeping on the bus.

"I think bus drivers should always check the bus before they leave. I mean, you never know what can happen," said Gracie Fuentes, a parent.

Parents were shocked to hear that a child was left behind after he fell asleep on the way to class. All of the other children filed off of the bus Wednesday afternoon, but the boy didn't wake up in time. The student ended up staying on for another ride.

Angelica Gomez heard about it for the first time as she dropped off her Pre-K child at class Thursday.

"I think that's crazy. Something you don't expect. You expect them to be more careful," said Gomez.

The bus driver then left, not knowing the sleeping child was still on board. The driver parked the bus at a nearby stadium, where the buses go at the end of a route.

Fifteen minutes later, the child woke up alone. Luckily, another driver noticed and took the student back to class.

"I think more training, I guess. Everybody has an off day. There's accidents. I guess just double check every time," said Gomez.

She is now second guessing her child's bus ride home.

"It's very worrisome. It makes me want to pick her up at night."

A Goose Creek ISD spokesperson said the bus driver is being disciplined.

The child is doing well and his parents were notified right away.
