A local supermarket in the Washington, D.C. area is recalling Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mixes that are potentially linked to E.coli.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A local supermarket in the Washington, D.C. area is recalling Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mixes that are potentially linked to E.coli.

Giant Food announced today it will be recalling the following items:

Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Carrot Cake Mix with better if-used dates between:

  • April 12 and April 14, 2017
  • May 28 to May 30, 2017
  • July 7 to July 8, 2017

Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Party Rainbow Chip Cake Mix with better if-used dates between:

  • March 25, 2017
  • March 28, 2017
  • April 28, 2017
  • May 23 to May 25, 2017

Customers who may have purchased these items can bring them back for a full refund. Giant said that while most strains of E.coli are harmless, some have the possibility of making consumers sick.
