HOUSTON - The Houston Zoo has welcomed it's newest Komodo Dragon, named Phoenix.

Phoenix is two years old and only five pounds. One day, he could reach up to 170 pounds.

It is estimated that there are only about 3,000 to 5,000 dragons remaining in the wild. The Houston Zoo is home to two Komodo dragons, Phoenix and his cousin, Boga. Both live in the zoo’s Reptile and Amphibian House.
