HOUSTON – Another student is in custody after a social media threat made the rounds in the Houston area.

The latest incident occurred at Hastings High School, according to officials at Alief ISD.

In a morning press release, district officials said they were made aware about a threat of violence made by a student who attends Hastings. Campus police immediately took the suspect into custody as he or she arrived to class Monday.

“The campus and police will conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether charges will be filed against the student,” stated Alief ISD.

“Our students’ safety is paramount. We thank you for your cooperation and want to encourage you to please stay alert and report any suspicious statements, images or behaviors posted on social media or witnessed in person. This is a reminder to students and the community that ‘if you see something, say something.’”

Last week an Aldine Middle School student was arrested and charged for alleged threats made on Instagram.
