KATY, Texas — A 2-year-old girl was pulled from a swimming pool in Katy Monday evening.
The child was unresponsive, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
First responders rushed the victim to Texas Children's Hospital in Katy where the child remains in critical condition.
The incident happened Monday evening at a home in the 4900 block of Windcross Court. Officials said there were two women and two children both under 3 years old at the time of the incident. They said both adults were inside when the 2-year-old girl went under water.
Authorities said the other child ran inside to alert the adults, and one of them began performing CPR on the child before EMS arrived.
The girl and her mother were visitors and do not live at the home, according to investigators. It is unknown at this time whether any charges will be filed.
