HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 17-year-old died early Sunday morning in a major accident in northwest Harris County.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the teenager failed to stop at a stop sign and swerved through multiple lanes of traffic before she struck a retaining wall on Highway 290 near Hempstead Road.
She was taken to a Cy-Fair hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The sheriff did not say if alcohol or speeding were a factor. The teenage girl was the only passenger in the car. There were no other vehicles involved.
