HOUSTON - A Houston police officer was arrested and charged in a domestic violence case Saturday, according to deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

Officer Cedric Lincoln is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies said Lincoln showed up at his estranged wife's house in Cypress under the influence with a gun early Saturday morning.

Lincoln noticed that her boyfriend's truck was outside the home. The officer then entered the home through the garage and confronted the couple when they were sleeping, deputies said.

Deputies said Lincoln pointed a gun to the boyfriend's head and made him leave. He ran out and called 911.

Lincoln then pointed a gun to his wife's head and threatened to kill her, deputies said.

Lincoln has been relieved of duty as an officer with pay until an internal investigation is completed.
