Randle High School closed Tuesday out of precaution over 'domestic violence concern,' Lamar CISD officials say

In the letter, district officials said the concern stems from a situation that developed off campus over the weekend.

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — A Lamar Consolidated ISD high school will be closed on Tuesday out of precaution due to a domestic violence concern, according to a letter sent to parents on Monday.

Randle High School, located on Koeblen Road, will be closed on Tuesday. According to the district's calendar, Wednesday is the last day of school for students.

In the letter, district officials said the concern stems from a situation that developed off campus over the weekend. KHOU 11 News is working to get more information on the incident.

"Dear Randle High School Community,

"We need to inform you of a change in our schedule due to a situation that developed off campus over the weekend. While there is no direct threat against our campus or any specific student, we have received information regarding a domestic violence concern that could impact our school community.

"Out of an abundance of caution, Randle High School will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday May 21.

"Our decision is a result of an active investigation, so this is all the information that we can share at this time. We are in close communication with local authorities to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and their families. This precautionary measure is being taken to maintain a secure environment for everyone in our community.

"Please know that these decisions are made with the utmost care and consideration for our community’s safety. We understand that this change may cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.

"If there is a need to close school on Wednesday, you will receive a notification by 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21.

"We encourage everyone to remain observant and report any concerns to the school administration. Your child’s safety is our top priority, and we are committed to maintaining a secure environment for all."
