Driver crashes into back of fire truck on Eastex Freeway

A fire truck stopped at the scene of a wreck was struck by a driver early Monday.
It was around 2:30 a.m. when authorities with the Eastex Fire Department were assisting with a crash near the exit for Lee. A male driver didn’t see the stopped truck and hit it from behind.

It was around 2:30 a.m. when authorities with the Eastex Fire Department were assisting with a crash near the exit for Lee. A male driver didn't see the stopped truck and hit it from behind.

No firefighters were injured, but the driver was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating. There were no charges pending immediately after the wreck.
