Crosby ISD makes changes to STAAR testing, school times due to President Trump's visit

There’s a district-wide early dismissal Wednesday and students in 5th and 8th grade will now take the STAAR test Thursday, April 11.

CROSBY, Texas — Crosby ISD is making some changes to school times and STAAR testing schedules this week due to President Trump’s visit Wednesday.

Students in 5th and 8th grade will now take the test Thursday, April 11. The Crosby High School students scheduled to take the STAAR makeup test will still do so Wednesday.

There’s a district-wide early dismissal Wednesday. Crosby High School and Crosby Middle School students will be released at 1 p.m. All elementary campuses and Crosby Kindergarten will be releases at 2 p.m.

Morning Pre-K students will be taken home at regularly scheduled time and afternoon Pre-K is cancelled.

“Undoubtedly, this is a unique event for our community, and we recognize its historical importance,” the district said.

The early dismissal allows students to be taken home without significant delays due to road closures.
