Multiple suspects are in custody after they allegedly tried to get away from police by ditching a stolen pickup on the East Freeway.
According to officials, around 11:15 a.m. Friday Houston Police started following a suspicious Dodge Dakota pickup, which later came back reported as stolen.
When officers tried to stop the suspects, reportedly three women, they allegedly refused to pull over.
The trio headed eastbound on I-10 to Cedar Lane near Channelview where they jumped out and ran across the westbound lanes. Officers followed the suspects and managed to take them into custody.
The freeway was briefly shut down in both directions but full reopened by 11:50 a.m.
There were no injuries, although the front of the Dakota appeared to have been wrecked.
