HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested in connection with the killing of a woman, whose body was found dumped in an empty field near Beltway 8 Wednesday morning.
According to court documents, Christopher Daniel Bernard, 25, is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of 29-year-old Cortney Hall.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Bernard met Hall at a motel on Monday. Bernard is accused of strangling Hall and then dumping her body in a field along Assay Street just inside Beltway 8 near W. Lake Houston Parkway.
A landscaping crew found the body just after 7:30 a.m., investigators said.
Bernad is due back in court on Monday.
