HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a woman found shot to death inside of an apartment in northeast Harris County, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to court documents, Desman Tobias Govan is charged with murder in the death of Andrea Denkins, 55. Govan was arrested Monday night.
The deadly shooting happened just after 6 a.m. Monday on Aldine Bender near the Eastex Freeway.
The sheriff's office said deputies were dispatched to a call of a shooting at the apartment complex. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Denkins unresponsive with gunshot wounds.
EMS responded to the scene and Denkins was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses, collected evidence, and identified a possible shooter.
