WATCH: Masked burglars steal dozens of firearms during smash-and-grab on Highway 6

The suspects used a white Toyota pickup truck to smash through the front of the store. Deputies said the suspects made off with about 35 to 40 firearms.

HOUSTON – Police are searching for eight suspects in two vehicles who stole dozens of handguns and rifles from a west Houston firearms store Friday morning.

This happened just before 4 a.m. at the Fountain Firearms Investment Inc. located in the 9400 block of Highway 6.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an alarm at the location. Once they arrived at the scene, they combed through surveillance video and saw seven suspects wearing masks and gloves taking the firearms.

The suspects used a white Toyota Tundra to smash through the front of the store. Deputies said the suspects made off with about 35 to 40 firearms.

Deputies said the suspects were also driving a white Ford Explorer parked next to store. However, the weapons were put into the bed of the pickup.

They headed south on Highway 6 towards Sugar Land and remain on the run.

Here are the descriptions of the eight suspects who entered the store:

  • Suspect No. 1 is described as wearing a dark gray or black hoodie, black pants and white shoed;
  • Subject No. 2 wore a black hoodie, black pants and dark shoes;
  • Subject No. 3 was wearing a light green hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes;
  • Subject No. 4 wore a bright blue hoodie, light blue jeans and blue shoes;
  • Subject No. 5 wore a black hoodie, light blue jeans and light-colored shoes;
  • Subject No. 6 wore a dark hoodie, black pants and dark-colored shoes;
  • Subject No. 7 wore a dark hoodie and blue jeans; and
  • Subject No. 8 wore a light blue sweat pants, and also was wearing a green ski mask.
