Man arrested, accused of running unlicensed SW Houston dentistry for 20 years

Jose Uzeta is also accused of sexually assaulting a patient during a visit.

HOUSTON — A man was arrested and is being accused of running an unlicensed dentistry office in Houston.

He's also accused of sexually assaulting a patient.

Police think there might be more victims.

Jose Uzeta appeared in court on Tuesday. Prosecutors said he and his business partner were both running an unlicensed practice for about 20 years and offered cheap dental services.

According to authorities, they weren't caught until a patient recently went to police and accused Uzeta of touching her inappropriately during an appointment.

"After defendant was read his statutory warnings, he admitted he was not licensed in the State of Texas and did not have a Social Security number and knew it was illegal to practice dentistry without a license," an official read during the appearance. "He stated he makes the molds himself for retainers and met the co-defendant at dentist school in Mexico."

Uzeta was held on a $50,000 bond.
