Substitute teacher arrested on child porn charges at Kingwood home

Kenneth Morphis faces three counts of possession of child pornography

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A substitute teacher for New Caney ISD was arrested at his Kingwood home Thursday on child porn charges, according to Harris County Pct. 4 Constables.

Kenneth Morphis faces three counts of possession of child pornography, a second degree felony.

Investigators were tracking the downloads of child pornography at a home in the 2000 block of Lake Creek Drive. A search warrant was obtained and carried out, during which the suspect confessed to investigators that he had obtained child pornography online.

“A review of the contents of Morphis' laptop computer found a cache of child pornography. Kenneth Morphis, who is a career educator currently serving as a substitute teacher in the New Caney Independent School District, was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography,” stated the constable’s office in a press release.

Morphis is in the county jail, and his bond has been set at $10,000.00 on each count, according to Constable Mark Herman.
