The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said they've arrested a suspect in a shooting earlier this week in Spring near The Woodlands following a three-day manhunt.
The MCSO SWAT team and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force arrested Mark Anthony Crooms Jr., 20, in Humble on Friday and charged him with murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old John Dennis Holmes III.
After Holmes was found dead on Raypine Drive near the North Freeway, the sheriff's office urged people in the area to stay inside as they searched for the gunman who was wearing a ski mask.
Authorities warned people along Oakhurst Drive, which runs from the North Freeway up past Rayford Road near Oak Ridge North.
Authorities said the gunman should be considered to be armed and dangerous and told anyone who sees him to call 911. They also advised people to avoid the area while investigators searched for the gunman.
Several law enforcement agencies took part in the manhunt.
At the time of his arrest, investigators said Crooms and Holmes knew each other but the motive for the shooting was unclear.
