Driver shot and killed on Eastex Freeway Sunday morning
HCSO is also investigating another weekend shooting on the Eastex Freeway, just a couple of miles from the Monday morning incident.
A driver was found shot to death in a car that crashed near East Mt. Houston around 5 a.m. on Sunday, according to Gonzalez.
Sgt. Pinkins with HCSO said there were several bullet holes in the driver's side of the vehicle. He said there's no evidence the driver returned fire.
The gunman or gunmen in that shooting also got away.
HCSO said it's too soon to say if the shootings could be related.
