Police identify man wanted in deadly shooting at southeast-side apartment complex

Timothy Walker, 24, is charged with murder in connection with the death of Harry Boone, 59. Boone was shot and killed while he was playing dominoes with friends.

HOUSTON — The man accused in a deadly shooting at a southeast-side apartment complex earlier this week has not been taken into custody, but police have released his identity in hopes of finding him and getting him off the streets.

Investigators said Timothy Walker, 24, is still on the run after shooting and killing Harry Boone, 59, on Tuesday. Walker is charged with murder, according to Houston police.

They said they think Walker is driving a black 2019 Chevrolet Malibu with Texas plates VCT1721.

Boone was playing dominoes with some friends outside his apartment on Schroeder Road near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Griggs Road when police say Walker approached them and hit Boone in the head.

During the argument, Walker pulled out a pistol and shot Boone before running away, police said.

Laquietta Boone is Harry Boone's niece. She said she was close with her uncle and said his death was shocking.

"My uncle should still be here right now," she said during an interview with KHOU 11 reporter Stephen Goin a day after the shooting.

Laquietta Boone said she didn’t know her uncle to be a confrontational person, but she believes the suspect had tormented him before.

“He was outside socializing like he always does, and from what I was hearing the dude was like bullying him,” she said. “My uncle, you know he’s going to defend himself, and when he defended himself, that's when he was shot.”

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
