Investigators return to townhomes in Galleria area with new search warrant tied to missing person case

Family members said Robert Bond has been missing for months. They said they lost contact with him a few weeks after he moved in with Sean Kennedy and his wife.

HOUSTON — Police were back in the Galleria area on Thursday with a new search warrant related to a missing person case.

The investigation started in June when Robert Bond, 40, went missing. Family members said Bond moved in with Sean Kennedy at his home on Sage Road, which is near the West Loop and Buffalo Bayou, in May. They said that after a few weeks of living there, they never heard from him again. Family members think foul play is involved and believe Bond is likely dead.

Thursday's search was focused on a different townhome on Sage. Texas EquuSearch crews were seen going into the backyard with a K-9, shovels and buckets. It's unclear if they found anything.

Investigators were also out there two weeks ago, on Sept. 5, when they searched a home a few doors down the street that is also owned by Kennedy. At the time, police said they were executing a search warrant related to a missing person case. Following the search, Kennedy and his wife were taken into custody.

Kennedy was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was released on bond. But, according to court records, he was arrested again Wednesday when his bond was revoked by a judge. As of Thursday afternoon, he was still in custody.

Family concerned

In an interview with KHOU 11 reporter Matt Dougherty, Bond's sister, Rose Bond, said it's been months since she heard from her brother and she's worried that he's dead.

"Robert never called us. Nobody ever heard from him again," she said.

Rose said her brother and his roommates were drug users.

"He lived a lifestyle that was different than us. He was into drugs. They were into drugs," she said.

Rose said in June her brother told her he was being accused of theft by his roommates. She said after not hearing from him in a while, she called one of the roommates who told her Robert had walked away from the house.
