'Whatever the outcome is, I just want him found' | New Caney mother desperately searching for son last seen nearly 2 months ago

Cindy Splater said she is worried and growing suspicious. She hasn't heard from her son Robert Bond for nearly two months.

HOUSTON — A New Caney mother wants answers after her son went missing in Houston in mid-June.

Cindy Splater said she is worried and growing suspicious. She hasn't heard from her son Robert Bond, 40, for nearly two months.

"I knew something was wrong. I've never been this long without talking," Splater said.

After multiple attempts to call him in June, she said she began getting more concerned.

"He wasn't answering the phone. There was no answer and then after about three or four days of that, it went to like it was turned off. It went straight to voicemail," Splater said.

Now when she calls his phone the line is disconnected.

They're both from New Caney, but Splater said her son moved in with two people in Houston back in May. After not getting any word from her son she reached out to them.

"They told me that he had left the residence after a confrontation and they gave me different days of when he left from there," Splater said.

On June 22, Splater filed a missing person report with the Houston Police Department.

"He was working for these people that he lives with on Sage Road in Houston and now what kind of work he was doing? I get conflicting stories about that. I really don't know," Splater said.

In July, she still had not heard from her son, so she reached out to the organization 1st Priority Search & Recovery for help.

"I got in touch with 1st Priority and they made more fliers and put them up, and then I got one from HPD," Splater said.

Wendy Abramson, a missing persons advocate, said the lack of leads and information regarding his whereabouts is concerning.

"Hopefully there's more movement, you know, but the biggest thing is to get the word out," Abramson said.

The organization now has a private investigator on board to help move this case along.

As far as Bond's past, his mother said he had his share of run-ins with the law.

"It was all drug-related. He had a charge, it's been about four years ago of identity theft. So, you know. Yeah, there's that," Splater said, "He could have made some people mad."

This mother is left with many questions, not sure where to turn for the answers.

"I want to know where he is. I want to know what happened. You know? Whatever the outcome is, I just, I just want him found," Splater said.

Bond was last seen on Sage Road near Woodway Drive going in an unknown direction. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes.

Bond has a tattoo on his forearm that reads "All who wander are not lost."

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call HPD Missing Persons Unit at 832-394-1840.
