Richmond man arrested for violently attacking, killing his wife's dog during argument, Fort Bend County constable's office says

RICHMOND, Texas — A Richmond, Texas man has been arrested for violently attacking his wife's dog during an argument on Friday, according to the Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable's Office.

Pengfei Ji, 31, is accused of grabbing the teacup Pomeranian by its hind legs and slamming it against a dog house several times before leaving it in the yard. The constable's office said the dog was pronounced dead after it was brought to an urgent veterinarian clinic.

"This just leaves me speechless," said Pct. 1 Constable Chad Norvell. "I'm glad we were able to put him in jail and that he'll face justice for his horrendous actions. I send my condolences to his wife on the loss of her precious companion."

The constable said Ji is charged with cruelty to animals, a third-degree felony.
