HOUSTON — Homicide detectives are looking for the person who shot and killed a man outside a southwest Houston apartment complex late Friday night.
The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. in the 6600 block of Atwell St.
The Houston Fire Department was the first to respond to the scene and pronounced the man, said to be in his early to mid-20s, dead.
Witnesses said they heard a loud pop that may have been a gunshot in the area but didn't see the suspect.
Investigators are checking nearby businesses for surveillance.
