According to Houston police, the Humble Police Department called for help chasing a stolen vehicle.
At some point during the chase, a woman got out of a car being driven by a man police identified as Sebastian Sanchez. That woman was taken into custody, police said.
Sanchez ended up turning into oncoming traffic on the northbound feeder road of the Eastex Freeway near Greens Road, according to authorities. Humble police said officers stopped pursuing him, but Sanchez ended up crashing into a woman's car.
The woman was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Sanchez was reportedly taken into custody after being treated for injuries. He was charged with murder and also had three other open cases, investigators said. A judge set his bond at $750,000 on Monday. Prosecutors said they scheduled a hearing to request that Sanchez be held on no bond due to the open cases.
