HOUSTON — A woman accused of leaving two of her children in a hot car while getting her nails done in Baytown appeared in court Monday.
Lydia Aviles, 28, faces two counts of abandoning a child with intent to return.
Court documents say Aviles left her 2-year-old and 5-year-old inside her car while she went inside a Baytown nail salon with her 4-year-old.
Baytown police said she left the air conditioning on, but it wasn't strong enough to cool the car. One of the children was found sweating.
Aviles placed a $20,000 bond. The court ordered her not to have unsupervised visits with her children, who are now with a family member.
