Cash flies all over parking lot during daytime armed robbery at SE Houston gas station

Houston police are searching for two men who robbed a man at a gas station along MLK Boulevard on Dec. 11.

HOUSTON — Houston police are searching for two men who they said shot and robbed a man at a southeast-side gas station last month.

It happened at the Sunoco along MLK just outside the Loop on Dec. 11.

The crime happened in broad daylight. Surveillance cameras captured what happened around 3:30 p.m. that day.

A man said he pulled up to a pump and started talking with a friend who was at the pump behind him. While they were talking, the victim said, an unknown man walked up with a gun and demanded money.

The victim said the suspect fired one shot, hitting him in the leg. He said he dropped his cash and food on the ground.

In the video, a second suspect emerges and points a gun at the victim while the first suspect grabs money off the ground. Both suspects left the scene in a black Audi SUV, police said.

The victim told police that before being robbed and shot, he sold a vehicle at a nearby gas station and was possibly followed by the suspects.

Police described the suspects as being between 18 and 25. One of them was about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a thin build and a goatee. He was wearing a black pullover, black pants and black sandals. The other suspect was described as having a thin build and was wearing a light-colored pullover, white shorts and red sandals.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
