TEXAS CITY, Texas — A 30-year-old man was charged with murder in connection with his mother's death on Wednesday.
According to Texas City police, Jonathan Taylor walked into the Wendy's on Palmer Highway around 8 p.m. He was covered in blood and claimed he had been robbed.
When police got there, they saw several knife wounds on Taylor's arms.
Investigators said Taylor eventually admitted to killing his mother in an attack at her house on Tarpey Avenue.
Authorities went to the home and found Regina McIntyre, 68, on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to an area hospital where she later died.
After Taylor was treated for his injuries, he was arrested and taken to the Galveston County Jail where he's being held on a $500,000 bond.
Police said it's unclear why Taylor attacked his mother.
