Man accused of robbing, sexually assaulting neighbor in front of her baby

Stephen Hudson allegedly forced his way into the woman's house and sexually assaulted her in front of her infant before putting the woman in a closet and threatening to kill her if she came out.

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas - A Fort Bend County man is accused of robbing and sexually assaulting his neighbor in front of her baby.

Stephen Hudson, 19, is a registered sex offender who was recently released from jail. He is now behind bars in Fort Bend County.

Officials say Hudson knocked on his neighbor’s front door in the Westheimer Lakes subdivision and asked for someone by name. When the woman said that person wasn’t there, he walked away but returned two minutes later.

Hudson allegedly forced his way into the woman’s house and sexually assaulted her in front of her infant before putting the woman in a closet and threatening to kill her if she came out. He then allegedly ransacked the house and stole guns and electronics.

"It's sickening,” said Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls. “Our thoughts and prayers to her where she can try to get through this. This will take quite some time for this young lady to deal with this."

Hudson was released from jail in May and registered as a sex offender in June. He is charged with aggravated robbery and sexual assault. Kevin White, the lead detective on the case, said the victim had a front porch camera that helped identify and arrest Hudson.
