CYPRESS, Texas — Deputies responding to a call in Cypress caught a mail theft suspect red-handed, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
Deputies were in the 15000 block of Flameleaf Drive in the Fairfield area earlier this week to check reports of a man stealing mail out of mailboxes.
Constable Mark Herman said Jason Weiss was using homemade United States Postal Service arrow keys to open mailboxes. He also had a gram of heroin, according to Herman.
Weiss was charged with theft of mail, unlawful use of a criminal instrument and possession of a controlled substance.
