HOUSTON — A 27-year-old man is facing a murder charge after authorities said he confessed to killing the mother of his child last weekend.
According to investigators, Ivan Bautista Cazarez walked into a police station on the northwest side on Saturday, Aug. 10, and admitted to officers that he had killed the mother of his child, drove her to the Academy off US-290 at 34th Street and left her body in the vehicle.
When first responders got there, the woman's body was found in the backseat and the 27-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Cazarez was given a $150,000 bond and was due to appear in court again on Tuesday.
