Man charged with murder in death of innocent bystander struck by car outside Midtown nightclub

Houston police said Sanden George was trying to run over another woman when struck and killed the innocent bystander, a 41-year-old woman.

HOUSTON — Charges have been filed against a man who struck and killed an innocent bystander while trying to run over another woman outside a Houston nightclub early Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.

Sanden James George, 35, was arrested after the incident on San Jacinto Street near the Gulf Freeway.

HPD said Monday that he's now been charged with murder and assault on a family member.

Witnesses told investigators that George got into a physical altercation with a 24-year-old woman inside the nightclub and they were kicked out.

According to HPD, he crashed into several vehicles before intentionally trying to strike that woman with his vehicle. She wasn't seriously hurt but George struck and killed the 41-year-old innocent bystander, according to HPD.

Police said the innocent bystander was a manager at a club who was getting ready to go home.

George left the scene but police arrested him several blocks away on Jefferson Street.
