HPD releases photos of suspect in deadly stabbing on METRORail

Investigators said the attacker left the scene, and so did all the passengers on the train meaning police didn’t get any witness statements.

HOUSTON — Houston police released surveillance photos of a man accused of stabbing another man to death on the METRORail Sunday night.

Police said the accused killer jumped off the METRORail after the stabbing. The 55-year-old victim bled to death on the train.

This happened at around 9 p.m. Police said the conductor stopped the train at the Wheeler Transit Center, which is about two miles away from where the stabbing took place.

“They were involved in some kind of altercation that turned into a physical fight. During the altercation, the suspect did stab our victim multiple times,” HPD Homicide Det. Diaz said.

Diaz said the attacker left the scene, and so did all the passengers on the train. Investigators didn’t get any witness statements.

Police are asking anyone who was on the train Sunday night to please contact HPD’s Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS for a reward of up to $5,000.
