HOUSTON — A man was shot and killed by a driver after approaching that person's vehicle in northeast Harris County Saturday evening, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The shooting happened at the underpass of Aldine Mail Rte Road and the Eastex Freeway.
Gonzalez said it is unknown what led to the shooting, but it appears a man got out of his Ford Explorer and approached a vehicle behind him. Investigators believe he began to strike the driver.
Someone in that light-colored sedan then shot the man.
The shooting victim, who investigators believe may be in his 30s, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Gonzalez said the alleged shooter left the scene.
A toddler found in the victim's vehicle was not injured.
