HPD: Guard accidentally fires shotgun at apparent unlicensed nightclub, hitting two women

The Houston Police Department said there were several hundred people either in the club already or waiting to get in when the shooting happened.

HOUSTON — A security guard at an apparent unlicensed nightclub in north Houston accidentally fired a shotgun he was handling, hitting two women early Sunday morning, according to police.

This happened around 3:20 a.m. on West Parker Road along I-45. 

The Houston Police Department said there were several hundred people either in the club already or waiting to get in when the shooting happened. 

One of the women was hit in her forehead and the other was hit in her abdomen and shoulder. The two women were treated at the scene and were not taken to a hospital.

The guard reportedly fled the scene before officers got there.

An investigation is underway.
