Houston police arrest serial robbery suspect and they believe there may be more victims

Ronald Albert, 35, is charged in three armed robbery cases and HPD said he's a suspect in at least four others.

HOUSTON — Houston police arrested a suspected serial robber who is charged in three armed robbery cases and suspected in at least four others.

HPD Robbery Division investigators have linked Ronald Albert, 35, to three incidents in June.

Wednesday, June 5

A Subway on Antoine Dr. near Pinemont Drive in northwest Houston was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect jumped over the counter, pointed his gun at two employees and demanded cash. On the way out, he dropped the money on the floor and had to scoop it back up before he left.

Another fast-food restaurant on Aldine Bender Road near Imperial Valley Drive in north Houston was robbed.

The robber walked in, put a mask over his face and ordered a worker sweeping the floor to open the cash register. Another employee walked out and the suspect held both at gunpoint until he got the money.

A short time later, the same guy walked into a gas station on West Mount Houston Road near 45 North and bought a drink. He came back a few minutes later, put a mask over his face and held two employees up at gunpoint.

"He's violent. One of the most important weapon safety rules is keep your finger off the trigger. In his case, he has his finger on the trigger, ready to pull at a moment's notice," Sgt. G. Garcia with the HPD Robbery Division said.

Garcia said Albert is suspected in at least four other robbery cases between January and June and they think there might be more. If you've been a victim or have any other information about Albert, call HPD robbery at 713-308-0700.

Albert was released from prison last October after serving 10 years for three aggravated robbery cases in 2013. Garcia said Albert was a prime suspect in six other 2013 cases.
