A Houston pimp was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday after he was convicted of forcing a 17-year-old runaway into prostitution.

According to the Harris County District Attorneys' Office, 44-year-old Ronald Block who was known as "Gorgeous Black" pleaded guilty to the charge for compelling prostitution.

The victim was among four prostitutes that Block was managing during a two-month period in 2015. He was accused of drugging her, having a sexual relationship with her and taking photos of her for prostitution advertisements.

“Jurors have little mercy for pimps,” said JoAnne Musick, head of the Sex Crimes Division at HCDAO.

The D.A. office said his plea deal locked him away for decades and spared him a possible life sentence if he went to trial.

“We are coming after those who run the illegal sex industry in Harris County,” said Musick. “They can expect stiffer charges and longer sentences.”

The Houston Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit investigated the case with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
