ANAHUAC, Texas — The Chambers County Sheriff's Office is looking for the driver who took off after hitting two women exercising along a road in Anahuac.
One woman died on scene. The other had to be taken to the hospital by Life Flight, deputies said.
This happened Monday at about 2:30 p.m. on the roadside of State Highway 61 near Barrow-White Road.
Deputies said it appears the women were hit by a 2019 to 2024 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra that is either white or silver. The pickup truck was traveling southbound on SH 61 when it went off the roadway and crashed into the two women.
Though deputies believe the suspect's truck is either white or silver, they said any pickup matching the description should be reported to Trooper Banda with Texas DPS at 409-655-0914 or Chambers County Crime Stoppers at 844-860-8477.
