HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman was hospitalized after she was wounded during an altercation involving another woman of her ex-boyfriend's apartment in north Harris County overnight.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman was hospitalized after she was wounded during an altercation involving another woman of her ex-boyfriend's apartment in north Harris County overnight.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Pines at Woodcreek, located in the 21000 block of Aldine Westfield at FM 1960.

Investigators said a woman went to her ex-boyfriend’s apartment and found a new girlfriend inside.

The ex-girlfriend managed to get inside somehow, deputies said. They added that the door knob was broken.

The woman entered the unit and got into a fight with the new girlfriend. Deputies said the new girlfriend pulled her gun out and shot the ex-girlfriend in the abdomen.

The woman was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

Deputies said the new girlfriend stayed at the scene and waited for deputies to show up. They added that she was being cooperative with the investigation.

Investigators said she will most likely claim self-defense in the shooting. She was taken into custody on unknown charges.
