HOUSTON — A Houston police officer will be okay after a driver slammed into his patrol car overnight.
The whole incident was caught on camera in southwest Houston.
The video shows the exact moment a man collides with that officer at the intersection of Hillcroft and the Southwest Freeway feeder.
The video is from the dash cam of another vehicle. The video shows the HPD squad car drive up the left-hand side of the screen. He has the green light, rolls through intersection then a car runs through the red light and slams into the officer.
This happened right around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Both of those drivers are fortunately OK. Neither had to go to the hospital.
Police did administer sobriety tests on the driver of the sedan. He was not arrested but he did get a ticket for running the light.
