HOUSTON — The 610 North Loop heading west has reopened after being shut down due to a deadly crash Wednesday morning, according to Houston police.
According to Houston Transtar, this happened just after 5 a.m. heading west just past Shepherd Drive. The crash involves a white sedan, a red Honda Acura and a semi.
According to Houston police, a 20-year-old man died in the crash, His identity has not been released.
The Acura was disabled in a moving lane of traffic after being involved in a crash with the white sedan, police said. That is when a white Freightliner tractor-trailer truck slammed into the Acura.
The driver of the Acura was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler driver, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
The freeway reopened around 9:15 a.m.
