KATY, Texas — A couple was found dead Sunday evening in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Katy, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
It happened at a home on Eagle Sage Lane in the Katy Oaks Subdivision.
Gonzalez said an adult man and woman, believed to be married, were found dead in a bedroom with a gun near them. He said investigators believe the man shot the woman and then turned the gun on himself.
The first call came in at around 5 p.m. Gonzalez said investigators responded, but there no vehicles at the home and no sounds of a disturbance. He said they also called and didn't get a response. Eventually, they left.
Then at around 6:30 p.m., the sheriff said they received another call from who they believe is the couple's 20-year-old daughter. That daughter, who lives at the home, reported hearing gunshots, according to Gonzalez.
Deputies arrived back at the home and that's when found the couple dead.
Gonzalez said another of the couple's daughters who doesn't live at the home said the disturbance was possibly over infidelity.
According to Gonzalez, there's not a history of calls for service to the home. He said there was just one since 2019, and it was "nothing related to any kind of disturbance."
The identies of the couple haven't been released.
