HOUSTON — A 17-year-old is facing capital murder charges after police said he's responsible for a shooting that left three people dead in the Alief area earlier this week.
According to police, Adiel Alexander Sandoval and another man approached two 17-year-olds inside the laundromat at the Tierra del Sol apartments on Cook Road on Tuesday night.
An argument escalated and shots were fired between the two groups, according to investigators. It's unclear what they were arguing about.
"A very tragic event here. We have family that's here. We have young lives that have been lost," HPD Assistant Chief Alvaro Guzman said at the shooting scene. "Please keep the families in your thoughts and prayers."
Residents said they heard the shots being fired.
"I thought it was fireworks at first but it was gunshots. I heard like 12 shots," resident Joseph Gant told us.
Sandoval was the only survivor. He ran from the scene but was arrested on Wednesday.
