HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Two people were taken to the hospital by Life Flight early Sunday morning after a suspected alcohol related crash in northwest Harris Counties, deputies said.
Deputies said the man who caused the crash admitted to drinking before getting into his car.
At about 2 a.m., a woman in a Chevrolet Venture was traveling westbound in the 9100 block of Shoal Creek Dr. when the man, who was driving the opposite direction at a high rate of speed, crashed into her car, according to Deputy Latham with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The impact of the crash caused the woman's car to land in a ditch. The man's vehicle traveled another 200 feet before he landed in a ditch.
Both were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
If the woman survives, it is likely the man will be charged with intoxication assault.
This is a developing story.
