Two men were shot in a drive-by shooting Saturday night outside a food mart in south Houston, police say.

One was pronounced dead and another was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

The Houston Police Department said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 3500 block of Lydia and Springhill.

The victims were standing in front of the store during the shooting.

Police looked at surveillance video from the food mart and saw a suspect shooting at the victims from the backseat of a silver truck. The truck is described as a newer model GMC or a Chevrolet Silverado with an extended cab.

The suspect fired several shots before the truck drove away.

Police believe the shooting suspect is a man but they are unclear how many people were in the vehicle during the time of the shooting.

Police are going to review more of the surveillance video to gather more information.

If anybody has information on the suspect/s or the location of the vehicle, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
