HOUSTON, Texas — BusyKid is the chore app where kids can earn, save, share, spend and invest real allowance, with plenty of features to help your kids build a strong financial routine.
BusyKid has over 1 million users, and is unveiling a new version that is free for families to use (the app used to cost $25 per year). The creator didn’t want the cost of the app to keep families on a tight budget from being able to use the tool that teaches kids about everything from earning a paycheck to saving, spending and even investing in the stock market.
The app essentially acts as a kid's own personal bank account, allowing kids to save, donate, invest and even make their own purchases with their own Visa Prepaid Spend Card. It gives your children the freedom to spend their allowance in stores or online, and parents see every transaction made.
KHOU 11 News is talking to the app creator and one Cypress family who uses the app today. That story will air on KHOU at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
