MANVEL, Texas — We have good news about a sweet dog that we first told you about last month.
Folks in the town of Manvel spent over a day searching for the pooch after someone spotted it running around with a plastic jug stuck on its head on July 17.
The Manvel Police Department posted a photo of the lab mix on Facebook and asked people to be on the lookout for her.
The frightened dog was spotted on Del Bello and County Road 58 but when people tried to get near her, she ran off.
Manvel Mayor Dan Davis, animal control officers and community members drove around town searching for the dog. Police officers tried to sedate her and even brought in drones to help track her down.
People were worried the dog wouldn't be able to breathe with the jug covering its nose and mouth.
The dog was finally found safe the following day and taken to a vet to be checked out.
The rescue groups LONE STAR PAWZ and Lola's Lucky Day have been taking great care of the dog since then. According to Davis, Lola's is working with rescues in Wisconsin to find the perfect home for her.
