HOUSTON — Binsu Oommen found support and a community in MD Anderson after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. When Binsu was in the waiting room about to get her first chemotherapy infusion, she saw a flier for MD Anderson's Boot Walk to End Cancer®. She told herself, if she survived cancer, she would fundraise for the Boot Walk the following year. Binsu survived and made it to that Boot Walk, raising thousands of dollars after she shared her story on social media. She has stayed involved with the Boot Walk for the past six years. This year, Binsu is the chair of the Boot Walk. She is encouraging others to join Md Anderson's mission and support survivors, caregivers and the research to find a cure.
There's still time to register for free for MD Anderson's Boot Walk to End Cancer®. You can give cancer the boot, no matter where you are, on Saturday, November 4. Join in person at MD Anderson's Texas Medical Center Campus for a 1.2-mile walk, or virtually by walking wherever you are. All funds raised go directly to support MD Anderson's mission to end cancer. Boot Walk supports people with all kinds of cancer, not just a specific type.
