Koffeteria: Bakery & cafe celebrating the flavors of Houston

Koffeteria is a bakery and cafe that offers Cambodian inspired pastries, hot foods and coffee!

HOUSTON — Koffeteria is located in the heart of East Downtown, Houston. The neighborhood once known as Vietnam Town, is where pastry chef Vanarin Kuch spent time in his family's seafood & doughnut shops.

Chef Vanarin's career catapulted when he became the opening pastry chef at Tiny Boxwoods. National audiences got to know him from appearances on "Top Chef: Just Desserts" and "Chopped." After 10 years of working at top kitchens in New York and Chicago, he decided to come back to his hometown of Houston to open Koffeteria. Recently, they made history as Houston's first bakery nominated for 2024 James Beard in Outstanding Bakery.

The menu at Koffeteria changes often to incorporate seasonal ingredients and showcase the diverse flavors of Houston.

For June, they are doing a few collaborations with LGBTQ+ Chefs around Houston. They will also be doing Pride themed pastries, which all proceeds will be donated to Grace Place.
