NASA Alarm System Engineer Jerry Woodfill gives his account of the Apollo 11 moon landing and discusses the little known challenges of the mission.

HOUSTON — A basketball scholarship brought Jerry Woodfill to Rice University in the '60s.  Inspired by President Kennedy's Moon Race speech, Jerry focused on academics and earned a degree in engineering   

  At age 22, he landed a job an engineering job NASA.  He was assigned to the Apollo mission to create a warning system for Astronauts.  Click on the video above to hear the rest of his story and find out how he was part of a team that saved the Apollo 11 moon landing.
