NEW YORK — Christmas, 1994.

That year, an instant classic joined the ranks of America’s favorite holiday songs. You can’t go a season without hearing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” – and why would you want to?

Well now – 25 years later – it’s official. And many would argue it’s long overdue.

The song just hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Billboard says Carey's classic hit the top 10 for the first time in Dec. 2017, and climbed to number three in 2018.

According to People Magazine, it wins the holiday song streaming game every year, and it’s the most-downloaded holiday single ever.
